Our small vineyard is fondly named ‘Line of Fire’ due to it being a very focused few rows of vines, surrounded by much larger vineyards owned by well-known growers and wine brands. Located on the north edge of the Rutherford AVA, Line of Fire Vineyard produces moderate ripe, black fruit with great structure and refined tannins.
Since the 1800s, the Rutherford appellation has produced some of the world’s greatest Cabernet Sauvignons. The Rutherford appellation is the widest part of the valley floor between the western Mayacamas Mountains and the eastern Vaca Range. The soils are a combination of sedimentary, gravelly-sand and alluvial with good water retention. Over 70 percent of vineyards in this region are planted to Cabernet Sauvignon.
