2017 Akrasia Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon
Line of Fire Vineyard

119 CASES PRODUCED

2017 was another excellent vintage for Northern California. Warm days and cool nights yielded wines with ripe flavors, ample structure and vibrant acidity. This is a full bodied Cabernet with plenty of grip and strength and is built for aging but is already wonderfully approachable.  It has a complex palate of dark fruits, black cherry and spice with wonderful aromas of blackberries, butterscotch and anis.

“I’ve been saying it for years; valley-floor California Cab is overcooked (a fault of the winemaker or Robert Parker, not Mother Nature) and overpriced. Give me the mid-palate subtlety of Cab, the gooey milk chocolate and soft peppermint. This is the closest thing I have had (from California) to Pichon Longueville or Pauillac in ages, elegant and restrained in its opulence.”
