The 2020 growing season was actually terrific. It was a warm year with a reduced crop of small, concentrated berries. Our Cabernet Sauvignon was aged 22 months in new and used French oak barrels and is genteel in feel, with a pure unadorned beam of cassis and cherries. It reveals toasty vanilla streaks on the finish. Would highly suggest decanting.
BLEND: 95% CABERNET SAUVIGNON, 3.75% PETIT VERDOT,
0.25% MALBEC, 0.5% CABERNET FRANC & 0.5% MERLOT
“I’ve been saying it for years; valley-floor California Cab is overcooked (a fault of the winemaker or Robert Parker, not Mother Nature) and overpriced. Give me the mid-palate subtlety of Cab, the gooey milk chocolate and soft peppermint. This is the closest thing I have had (from California) to Pichon Longueville or Pauillac in ages, elegant and restrained in its opulence.”
